About The Program
Our mission is to make product management more accessible to talented people from all backgrounds, to strengthen our product community, and to help our technology ecosystem thrive.
Our Mission
About the program
APM Montreal is a community-led, cohort based training program for product managers at the start of their career. Each cohort lasts 20 weeks, meeting once a week, with a mix of remote and in person sessions. There are also a few social events throughout the program. Each cohort consists of approximately 15 APMs, with a similar number of Mentors.
In most cases, companies send both an APM and a Mentor as a pair to participate in the program. APM Montreal's mission is to increase accessibility to product management while building a strong tech ecosystem in Montreal. The organisation is run as a non-profit, with all proceeds reinvested in the program.

What APMs are saying
Gulen Buyukbayram Kizilkale
PM at Caribou
APM cohort 2022
"APM Montreal helped me learn how I could apply my skills to product management practices. From product strategy to influencing and communication, I had a chance practice them within clearly defined workshops, solving real work problems with support and feedback from Senior PMs.”
Ariane Dang
PM at Sama
APM cohort 2023
"APM Montreal brought me a lot of knowledge about product management. But mostly, I would say, it brought me friends and a nice network I still interact. There is a Slack channel where we all talk together about Product Management on a weekly basis and I don’t think I would have met these people otherwise."
For mentors
Who can be a mentor?
Our program is taught entirely by volunteer product leaders from the Montreal community.
Mentors usually bring an APM from their organization and also participate in the sessions.
For more on what is expected of Mentors, please see our FAQs.
What is the commitment?
We ask each mentor to commit to the following for the duration of each cohort:
Individual mentorship of 1-2 APMs
Leading and co-leading of 1-2 sessions
Attendance of 6 sessions (incl. those you lead)

"APM MTL was a great learning experience for my team. I’ve seen them grow tactically and strategically when approaching a new business problem. The sense of community created amongst APM and mentor create a bond that would last for a long time."
